The Story of Cowboy and the Lightening Storm
The sound filled the night… The strikes lit up the sky… The ground beneath me crashed, shook, and moved… Our house trembled…
My stomach dropped to the floor, my heart began to race… Butterflies filled my stomach…
It was that all too familiar feeling of anxiety… But the anxiety had NOTHING to do with me…
The anxiety was for my companion… My best friend… My “right hand”… Cowboy the border collie…
You see, even when the very THOUGHT of thunder and lightning enters his mind, he begins to shake… His breath quickens, he starts to whine, and his face is clearly STRESSED OUT…
He runs to his bed, trying to find a “Safe” place… But nowhere in our Colorado home is free from the shakes and sounds of a thunderstorm…
His torment is my torment… I can’t stand it… You see, Cowboy is like a child to me… And NO parent wants to see their child suffering…
I tried everything… But nothing seemed to help calm his anxiety…
Even HOURS before AND after the storm, he would be in a state of total PANIC…
Just when I thought nothing would work, a friend turned me onto this new thing called CBD…
I was a bit confused, because I thought CBD was just for humans, but my friend assured me it was safe AND effective for Dogs…
Honestly, I was highly skeptical at first… But I figured I had nothing to lose at this point… And $40 was a good gamble in this situation…

CBD Dosage for Pets (Cats and Dogs)
First a little background… Many people ask us… Is CBD safe for my Pet? The short answer is yes.
There is no known “toxic” level of CBD for pets (cats, dogs, horses… and humans). In fact, some people give their pets regular marijuana oil. Marijuana oil contains high levels of THC – Which means it gets you and your furry friend high. This is a decision we aren’t going to speak on, as it is controversial. That being said, people usually only give their pets THC under extreme circumstances, such as cancer, PTSD or other serious diseases.
CBD is much more benign and “tame” compared to THC containing marijuana oils. The only negative reactions we have witnessed in giving our pets CBD, is if we give them a higher than normal dose, then they may get a little sleepy. And a little nap never hurt anyone… So, just play around with dosage. Start small, and work your way up.
How to use CBD for Dogs:
Give one serving directly in your dog’s mouth, or add one serving to your dog’s food.
Serving Size:
≤25lbs dogs: 0.25ml
26-50lbs: 0.5ml
>50lbs: 0.75ml

How to Use CBD For Cats:
Add 0.25ml (4.2mg CBD) serving to your directly into your cat’s mouth, or mix with their food.. Give one serving twice daily or as directed by your veterinarian. What About Zero THC CBD For My Pet?
At Patriot CBD we focus primarily on Zero THC CBD products, so you can enjoy the benefits of CBD without the risks associated with THC. That being said, our CBD for Cats and CBD for dogs formulas contain THC (Small amounts, >0.3%). This amount of THC is non-psychoactive… Which means it will not get your pet high.
Unless your pet is getting a drug test, you have nothing to worry about. As you may or may not realize, regular CBD oil can trigger a positive drug test result, due to its Small THC content. If you are anticipating your pet to get drug tested, we recommend skipping the CBD oil, or use our regular Zero THC CBD Spray – Which is guaranteed to have no THC present.
